Full-Time Police Communications Specialist

The Hampton Police Department is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Full-Time Police Communications Specialist (Dispatcher).  The Community of Hampton is a tourist destination located along the beautiful New Hampshire Seacoast.  Our Agency serves a Full-time population of 15,000 that swells during our busier summer months.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team consisting of 9 Civilians in support of 34 Full-Time and 70 Part-Time Sworn Officers.  Our Emergency Communications Center is located within the Police Station at Hampton Beach.

Our Communications Center is a 24 hour operation that is fast-paced and multi-function.  Successful candidates should have strong communications skills, the ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively while under pressure, basic phone skills, radio and computer skills.  Applicants with second language skills are highly desirable.  Online Employment Application

  • Minimum Requirement:
    At least 18 Years of Age
    High School Diploma, or Equivalent
    Valid Drivers License

  • Hiring Process:
    Oral Board (Oral Board Dates TBD)
    Polygraph Exam
    Psychological Exam
    Drug and Alcohol Screen
    Background Investigation

Salary and Benefits: Starting pay ranges $17.87-$18.87/hr depending upon shift assignment.  It includes a benefits package as defined by Teamsters Collective Bargaining Agreement (Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Vacation, Sick time, Educational Incentive, Clothing allowance and participation in the NH Retirement System).
