Mountain Bike Patrol |
| The Hampton Police started using mountain bike's to patrol in 1996. It was immediately evident
that this was a very useful way to get around the beach and also proved a favorite with the officers which ride.
We use "Specialized" Rock Hoppers Police bikes. Some of the biggest benefits is the increased interaction with the public and extreme mobility. The duty uniform for the bike is shorts, polo shirt, nylon gun belt and helmet. |

Foot Patrols are used during the Summer time. They are an invaluable means of
patrolling due to the heavy pedestrain traffic. The Foot Patrols are commonly some of the first officers to detect crimes
along the beach. |
