The Hampton Police Department has taken a new leap in technology to add RSS feeds to our web site. It's free
and easy to get the latest info about what's happening at Hampton PD.
Hampton Police feeds will incorporate four areas that change frequently. Employment Announcements, Unsolved
Crimes on our "CrimeLine for the Hampton's" Most Wanted Page, Law Enforcement Training Classes that we host, and Press Releases issued by the Hampton Police
Department.
What does this do for me? By subscribing to the feed your browser will check our website for newly posted
and updated information. The feed can be displayed as a bookmark on your browser or they can be added to your news in an existing
service like "My Yahoo", "My MSN", "My AOL", and "Google" home pages.
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's a way for you to get timely news information from our website.
It's just a matter of subscribing to the feed with your web browser or newsreader. Both of the most popular browsers
Firefox 3
by Mozilla and IE8 by Microsoft know and understand
RSS feeds. Their latest versions, Firefox 3 and IE8 both offer simple built in support for RSS feeds.
If an older browser doesn't understand the RSS XML feed you may need to use a news reader or aggregator.
There are many free readers available.
News on Feeds has a list of many readers on their site.
To subscribe, look for the orange RSS Feed graphic on this page. Mouse over the image, right-click,
and copy the URL. (Choose "Copy Shortcut" for Internet Explorer, "Copy Link Location" for Netscape and Mozilla, or "Copy Link Address" for
Opera). In your news reader, select the option that adds a new feed or channel, then paste in the URL of our feed and click OK.
We're excited to add the ability to get fresh updates to you in a new and exciting way. To add our feed to your
